Amy Feldman (b. 1981) received her BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and her MFA from Rutgers University. Recent solo exhibitions include Breath Myth, Blain|Southern, Berlin (2017); Moon Decorum, Brand New Gallery, Milan (2015); High Sign (2014) and Dark Selects (2012), Blackston, New York, NY; Gray Area, Sorry We’re Closed, Brussels, Belgium (2014); Stark Types, ANNAELLEGALLERY, Stockholm, Sweden (2013); and Raw Graces, Gregory Lind Gallery, San Francisco, CA (2013). Select group exhibitions include Riot Grrrls, Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago (2016-2017); New York Painting, curated by Christoph Schreier, Kunstmuseum, Bonn, Germany (2015); 2159 Miles, Brand New Gallery, Milan, Museo Britanico Americano, Mexico City (2015); The Empire Strikes Back, curated by Amir Shariat, Arndt Singapore (2015); This One’s Optimistic: Pin Cushion, New Britain Museum of American Art (2014); The New York Moment, curated by Lorand Hegyi, Musée d’art Moderne, St. Etienne, France (2014). Feldman received a Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant in 2013 and was also nominated for The Academy of Arts and Letters Award. The Dedalus Foundation awarded Feldman the Robert Motherwell Fellowship at The MacDowell Colony in Peterborough, New Hampshire; The Marie Walsh Sharpe Foundation, Brooklyn, NY; and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, Skowhegan, Maine. Feldman’s work is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) in Chicago, IL. Feldman lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
